There are five annual ‘core’ vaccinations that we recommend for your horses as advocated by the American Association of Equine Practitioners. These include Tetanus, Eastern and Western Equine Encephalomyelitis, West Nile Virus, and Rabies. For foals and broodmares, please call and visit with one of our clinicians for vaccination timing and safety concerns.

Coggins testing should be performed annually on animals that travel or come into contact with other animals via shows, rodeos, etc. The Coggins test identifies horses with Equine Infectious Anemia Virus, which is a very contagious and fatal virus in the equine industry. Many states and equine events require a negative Coggins test as well as a current health certificate in order to cross state lines or participate in shows or events.
